Y6 Winter Walk

With a focus on our curriculum driver of Outdoor Learning, as well as, for some children, our school value of Resilience, Year 6 excelled themselves in completing our annual Winter Walk. Conditions this year were snowy and bright, making for a perfect day to appreciate the beauty of the moorland in winter.

Y3 Polar Shelter building

Inspired by the intrepid explorers we have been learning about and the Inuit people who have lived in the Arctic for thousands of years (also Mr Fletcher!), Year 3s worked in teams to build a shelter to survive the harsh polar climates!

Y3 Hour of code – computing

Year 3 celebrated the hour of code by using computers to create and analyse databases. This meant working collaboratively to first choose the fields to fill in, then adding this information. We learnt the databases hold losts of information but can be used to quickly answer questions.

Y4 Design & Technology Reindeer

To create our cute reindeer, Y4 had to measure, mark and cut their wood. Then they had to sand down the rough edges. Next we drilled holes for the legs, neck and antlers and stuck on noses and eyes. Finally we plaited scarves to finish off our creations. As the photos show, this required some […]

In outdoor learning this week the children collected leaves from the school grounds. We searched for freshly fallen leaves because we needed them for decoration.
