This week the children have continued with their learning about spring. They listened to the oral story telling of the Month of March. In the story 2 young children go out side and notice the early signs of spring, they are able to collect eggs from their chickens , to see catkins growing on the willow, bulbs sprouting, lambs playing and the birds busy weaving their nests.
We have also enjoyed the sunny spring days outside made clay spiders and we have learnt that insects are starting to come out of their winter hibernation. We have begun sawing wood cookies to make lady birds and moved the mud kitchen into our sheltered area to escape the spring showers.
Inside pre-school we have had fun with the connecting camels, observing their different sizes, colours and joining them together to make different shapes. We have also been using jigsaws to help learn number lines and ordering up to 10 and bricks to construct into things that are sparked by young imaginations.
