Our Bouldering Team has had a great result at the Sheffield Bouldering Championships, held at the Mini-Climbing Works. The Children had already qualified amongst the top ten schools out of over 700 children who had attempted to reach the finals of the competition. The team took second overall in the team event and we had some great individual results. Georgie McKenna won first place in the individual girls category and Hazel Jebb took third.
The children had a great time and were complemented on their teamwork, attitude and behaviour, earning the unofficial award of “nicest team in the competition,” from their Climbing Works coach. Awards for individual effort and attitude were awarded to Ben Taylor and Grace Bridges. Grace showed amazing resilience whilst on a particularly challenging problem: she struggled with a very tricky move halfway up a climb but refused to be beaten. She stayed there for about five minutes before unlocking the technique she needed and bravely pushing up to the final hold.
Well done, Team!
