Our Y5/6 Bouldering Team had their qualifying session today to see if Dore will be able to take a place amongst the elite climbing schools in Sheffield at the Sheffield Bouldering Championships. The children attempted eight routes (problems) that made up the primary qualification course. The standard of climbing was really high with some of our climbers completing problems set for the secondary schools’ competition. One child topped out a boulder that had been completed by only eight other children in Sheffield!
The children represented the school really well in their behaviour and and attitude and a good time was had by all. Many parents were also able to attend and share in the enjoyment.
We now await news of the results and whether we have done enough to progress. If so, the top six climbers from the team will go on to compete in the finals in a few months. Finger crossed!
