In Y6, this half term, we have been learning about the ways in which Aztecs used the beans of the cacao tree to make edible products. We also compared and contrasted the Aztec use of cacao to how the Europeans began to make use of cacao once it was brought back to Europe.
Focussing on the process of designing, making and evaluating, children in Y6 have created their own delicious chocolate bar products, including eye-catching packaging designed to entice potential consumers. To assist us in this process, children looked at existing chocolate products and the features of effective packaging. Children also taste-tested existing chocolate products to analyse them and help the children decide on what their chocolate bar would be like.
