FS2 Summer Nature Scavenger Hunt

This week we welcomed the children back into Summer 2 with a scavenger hunt. Firstly we shared the poem ‘June’ by John Updike. We talked about long, warm summer days and adventures that we like to go on, games we like to play outside and being out and about in nature. We went outside to find that our school grounds are thriving with lush greenery!

Using a list, the children explored the school grounds and discovered: clovers, buttercups, daisies, dandelions, munched leaves, stripy petals, old beech nuts…and finally, we explored the meadow where we found so many different varieties of long grasses. The children were great nature detectives and could talk about what they had found with excitement and confidence.
