The Wileman Cup Final

After a group stage and semi-finals that lasted from Easter until early July, we had a Wileman Cup Final to remember in the last week of term. Two teams determined to play football the right way passed the ball around, creating a great game for the crowd of over 400.

Before the match started, the teams (and crowd) were privileged to be introduced to HRH King Charles and Queen Camilla. we also had an FA qualified referee for the game – thanks Jess for giving up your afternoon to help ensure the game ran smoothly!

The match itself was very exciting, and very closely contested.

Brinkburn Rovers eventually triumphed 2-1, coming back from a goal down.

The photo below shows the Y6 team captains from all the teams collecting their trophies in recognition of the support they provided for the tournament this year. They refereed every group game, organised teams, bibs and pitches, and were generally a great credit to the school and their families.
