Y4 started the year by immersing ourselves into the magical world of The Spiderwick Chronicles. Through our reading, we discovered that it is possible to gain ‘The Sight’, allowing humans to see into the ‘faerie’ world. This world contains all sorts of creatures, from fairies and pixies to trolls and boggarts.
Once we had gained ‘The Sight’ ourselves, we used our seeing stones to sketch the previously invisible creatures on the King’s Croft field.
Back in the classroom, we carefully described the creatures we had found, then collated all of our information in our very own ‘SpiDOREwick Field Guide’. We used our descritptive skills to describe our creatures, and developed our use of watercolours to create images of who we had found.
Finally, we rebuilt a village for brownies who were in danger of turing into boggarts as their village kept being destoyed by humans passing through the woods.
