Y1 Maths – measuring!

Yesterday, the children practised measuring using non-standard units such as hands, pencils and even whiteboards! They worked hard to measure accurately and start in the correct place.

World Book Day 2022

What a wonderful day the Year 1s have had. Well done everybody for such an amazing effort! We were so lucky to read with the Y5s and produced some lovely writing based on the book ‘We’re going on a lion hunt’ by David Axtell.

Y1 – Signs of spring

During our outdoor learning today, we looked for signs of Spring. We spotted crocuses, daffodil shoots and some snowdrops! Shame the weather was so wet! We then sketched some of these early signs of Spring – don’t they look great!

Hedgehog art work!

The children completed some hedgehog artwork – either as a collage inside, outside with natural resources or on the computer!

Numicon addition!

The children did a great job of adding two different pieces of numicon together. We even recorded our answers on our boards and worked with a partner to check our answers!
